Enjoy some snaps of our boat in it’s natural habitat. That’s a mere 20 foot of boat powered by a 350 cubic inch V8 in proper oppo fashion.

(Boats need to be fast too!)

Kinja'd!!!

The Diesel does pulling duty

Kinja'd!!!

on the lift after some play time

Kinja'd!!!

All covered and ready for the weekend ahead.

Need to go put the canopy on the lift today since it’s not windy but we’ll see how far I get.

very nice, I never really like Mariah boats, but they do bring the noise.

That’s a better use of a 350 than my boat, which is an inboard, direct drive. So I might have 310hp, but my top speed is 41. However, I can put 1500lbs of ballast and 10 people in the boat and still get up on plane no problem.

I suspect you’re pushing 60mph trimmed out with that boat.

That’s a damn nice looking boat!

Jealous!

She’ll push 62-3 with a flat lake with just me and a few gallons of gas (that is scary on keel in these hulls btw lol) but that is about to change. We live on a pretty small lake and our primary use is pulling people (skis/wakeboards/tubes) so we’d rather the hole shot vs top speed. I’ll take 40 as a top speed if it means I jump up on plane and pull people up quicker without having to get so handsy on the controls.

The hull design is... squirrel-y as shit at speed frankly. Some trim tabs going on and a different prop for this year. Can’t beat the interiors / attention to detail though- power seats, defog blower, windshield wipers etc.

Also trying to convince the wife that adding captains call exhuast (out the hull) would be a good waste of money. She says the car is loud the boat can be quiet- BOO!

Well, I mean, if the boat is an inconvenience for you....you can drop it at my house. That would be fine.

Do they also bring the funk?

Sorry, I’ll see myself out.

I guess if you leave some wet towels in there for long enough...

Nice! I’ve been slowly refurbing a ‘69 Chris Craft. Been fun playing with something that isn’t a car. That’s a sweet lift and lake (I’m assuming) ya got there.

Thanks! Nothing compared to your Chris Craft project but we enjoy the lake time.

Gotta make that thing go ‘blub blub blub’. Captains Call exhaust is definitely worth it!

Well then, on a small lake with mostly watersports use, you definitely should look at a direct drive or v-drive. Also, less maintenance/fewer failure points with a DD/VD as opposed to the sterndrive setup.

“Should Look Into”

Heh.

There would be an air natique on the lift if it were in the budget. As it were this is what I like to refer to as “paid for” and “Great for the money”

Looks good! Lift canopies are a bitch, good luck fellow boater.

I agree. First year with the boat on the lift so we’re excited to have it so easy to get to. Hopefully the canopy doesn’t erase our excitement.

haha, yes paid for is good. Mine is an ‘89 and I’ve had it for 10 years, it was only $4,700 when I got it. It’s probably worth the same now, if not slightly more because I put a much newer engine in it, added a tower, bimini, heater, stereo, dual battery switch, second bilge pump, all that good stuff.

If you do go that direction, look at ‘93 and newer because composite construction (no wood under the floor) started around then.

I was looking for one (a 94ish for reasons you’ve stated) when this boat dropped into my lap from a family member. 115 hours on it, minty fresh all over, needs no work (outside of trim tabs and a different prop) but one day we’ll send this one to the in-law’s lake place and we’ll be in need of something to fill the lift! Hopefully at a time when there are no toy car expenses...

Ours is held on with tied strings (like shoelaces) so that means lots of sore shoulders. BUT, having a lift is beautiful. No ugly algae/scum lines, no zebra muscles (if your lake has them), and no worrying about the boat during storms and potentially easier to get into for some people.

Here’s ours in Northern WI:

Looks like the same type canopy setup as ours, a bunch of bungee type dealies. These are the exact arguments (minus the zebra muscles) I used on the wife to justify the cost as our boat as a kid was always on a lift and was used so much more because of it.

Nice! In fact, I ended up with a Supra although I swear by Correct Crafts. Couldn’t pass up the deal, and here I am 10 years later. I have a boat fund, though, and I’ve been slowly feeding it for years. At this point, if a 1998 Sport or Super Sport Nautique comes my way for under $15k, I’m buying it. I have enough saved up that I can sell mine later, which might be key to getting the best deal. Buy in the fall, sell in the spring, you know.

115 hours! I have... about 1600 on mine. Granted, not all on one engine. But yeah. It’s... well loved.
